Tom Conneely

is a multi-instrumentalist born, raised and currently living in the north bay. Aside from touring and gigging across the country over the last decade, Tom was a longtime instructor for the award-winning children’s music program Little Folkies, both throughout the Bay Area and in Los Angeles. In addition to music, Tom is an avid surfer and history nerd with a degree from U.C. Santa Cruz and a master’s in Information Science from San Jose State.

Over the past decade or so Tom made my way as a songwriter, singer and for hire musician that has toured both across both nationally and across Europe, from the smallest clubs to festival stages and everywhere in between. Tom studied classical music at the collegiate level and have been teaching guitar, banjo, bass and beginner piano for the last ten years, with students at every level of playing and at every age. In particular, I focus much of my own playing these on flat-picking bluegrass and country guitar in the style of two of my guitar heroes, Clarence White and Don Rich.

As a teacher, it’s Toms goal to help you expand your musical vocabulary, be it understanding and utilizing musical theory, expanding your repertoire, understanding of the fretboard, or whatever it may be. As a music teacher, Tom loves to help students gradually teach themselves how and what to practice.
